This is one of the most difficult items I've heard to understand. I. Really surprised to see that enough people have given them a fair shot by trying alternative advice to give them the credit they deserve. With replacement tips they let me down having recently received a CCA C12. They really impressed me compared to things like Blon bl-03. The standard CA16s sounded too bass-heavy and cut off the highs too much. Aside from the obvious improvement in resolution and lack of graininess compared to those mentioned and a few others, it felt like a downgrade. The bass could completely cover most of the other frequencies. The only unusual thing about this bug was that you can hear other well-controlled things underneath it. It didn't seem like the bass was getting into things, rather the volume of other frequencies was too low. Unfortunately, the sound wasn't the only downside on first impressions, but the fit was also an issue. The piston tips are recessed into the sleeve and the nozzle is relatively short. In addition, there is a large bulge on the underside of the ear piece, which rests against the ear with the shaft tips. This eventually causes the IEM to slowly come out of my ear at an angle, breaking the seal. If you have other less recent models from CCA or KZ you know the 4.5-5mm nozzle but they are more like 3.5mm maybe even 3. Most of my nozzles don't fit. older KZ and CCA tips usually fit. If you're something else and you're going crazy and you think you have to run to the hospital to waste your precious time trying to get it out, don't. I've had earbuds fall out many times, but in the end I found a way for the earbuds to stay in place despite being too loose. The star tips make Iem's body sit further. After the nozzle ends, before you reach the end of the tip, there is enough room. This increased distance allowed them to stay in my ear and greatly improved comfort. This makes them stick out of your ears a bit more, but that's a compromise I'm willing to make. Finally where it gets better. Initially, I wasn't a fan of celebrity tips, so I had them in abundance. They seemed to lighten things up compared to my normal tips, be it foam or silicone. With CA16 this is almost exactly what you need. The bass is slightly subdued but still higher compared to the C12 and the blonds. The mids seemed to settle down to an acceptable level, and the highs lost some of their veiled feel they had before. Make it fun with these tips. The level of detail is extremely impressive for the price, presenting the details in a more technical than light-analytical way. The vocals are very smooth and oddly devoid of that graininess, perhaps a slight metallic tinge, of most other Chifi-Ba. Tipping also gave the singers back some of the power that regular tips took away from them. In general, they are still considered warm things, and although. They have more than enough detail to keep you engaged while listening to music, so you can enjoy the little things you don't normally do, but they're also fun. In no case will they harm you or cause fatigue. Apart from playing them too loud, you can easily listen to them all day long. They have become my most used pair since I got my hands on the tips and the improvements are painfully evident on the C12 and the bl-03 in particular. I didn't notice that they lacked detail or granularity, but after listening to CA16 and then going back, the difference is really noticeable. Hopefully I've finally upgraded the cable too. Received it today and it is a 16 core silver/gold cable from Tripowin. I'm trying very hard to find the difference between it and the standard cable, but I don't know if I can. I only have a pair of CA16s and there is too much time between listening and changing cables to get an honest opinion. I think I can hear a little difference but I don't know if I can hear a difference because I want it to make a difference. I think I can hear a slight boost in the mids and highs with the new cable, but even if what I think I'm hearing is real, it's very slight. The difference I notice the most is the trace of vocals and instruments in the high end. The standard cable appears to have a soft trailing edge for words and roundness for high frequencies. Tripowin appears to have shaved off the rounded edges, adding a touch of definition. It's actually good, but it could all be in my head. Lol I'm afraid to scroll up and see how long this review is going to take so I'll summarize and end here. They have a lot of issues, but if you take the time and effort to find the top tips, you can get some very good sounding tunes with impressive detail for a reasonable price. Perhaps the best item for the price.
