This adapter transmitted the picture well, but the sound came out with an uncomfortably high pitch. It wasn't very loud, but it was terribly annoying. In addition, the audio cable is quite short. It needs to bind the headphone/speaker jack to the adapter and since those things were on opposite sides of my laptop I was able to bind them and was only able to do so by leaving the adapter on top of the keyboard. But if you just need to transmit an image and don't need sound, this works great.
