I bought this bag to replace an old bag that I liked to use as carry-on. I like having a good, roomy bag that can hold a magazine and some essentials for a long flight. I received this bag 2 days before my trip, transferred my usual travel essentials from the old bag to this one and drove to the airport. When I got to my destination, Germany, I went through customs and they told me that there was explosive residue in this bag. I was in shock, I travel a lot and as usual I took everything with me and I try to avoid anything that could lead to security officials targeting me, so it was a big surprise. They also tested my daughter but all her tests came back negative. I scratched my head and all that was new was this bag and they wiped down the entire area where the handles connect to the bag. I had to do a search for it, but it wasn't bad. I was more afraid of going back to the US with this bag and being subjected to a much worse search, so I ended up giving this bag up. No problem with my new bag and strainer equipment. Not sure what they used in the bag, or maybe it has leftovers from their making, but beware, this bag may cause more trouble than it's worth.
