They are durable and look great. Large height range with adjustment. I only give it 4 stars because I think they were designed by very bad people. Anyone who thinks these parts are "interchangeable" is wrong. You will need some serious muscle strength to line up all of the screw holes. I used some carpenter staples to really hold things in place to align them. That and some swear words brought them together (don't build at church or on Christmas morning). Alan's wrenches that come with every stool are complete crap. The softest steel money can buy. You need both keys for each stool. And don't plan on losing screws or washers, you only get what you need. In the end, after building 8 of these, I was able to unscrew one in 20 minutes. When they're together, they look good, feel solid, and perform well.
