They appear to be made of clay so I don't know how absorbent they are. Although I dropped one and it didn't break, there's something to be said for the durability. The patterns are so beautiful and unique that I really like the little extra flair they add to my Kia soul. I wish they were more absorbent and a little bigger. They're very small, and the Kia Soul is known to have tiny cup holders, but there's still room in them. So what are the pros and cons of the time. Pros: - good price - bright and pretty - would make a great gift for a co-worker or something - durable enough Cons: - weird choice of materials (they look like real coasters you would use around the house) - don't really suck when you use these buy because you have dirty kids, maybe look elsewhere. Overall they are too small, I am very happy with the purchase, they are so cute. I have no children and wanted a nice little addition to my car. this is a good idea for a gift/stocking
