Non-OEM Lamp For what you pay 1/4 price you get what you pay for You will receive a body + lamp. I didn't want to spend $200 on a 9 year old projector so I decided to give it a try. LAMP #1: My order was delivered quickly; The lamp was well packaged and installation was easy. Here are my thoughts (compared to the original 1200 hour projector lamp): - Brightness is very similar or slightly higher than my original lamp - It takes about a minute to 1.5 minutes to heat up. up and stand at full brightness. My original lamp heats up in less than 10 seconds. That's not a problem for me, since the fully warm brightness and colors are comparable. The problem I had was an arc (spark) when the projector turned on; I listened to this audio arc and 2 times out of 3 the projector indicated a lamp error. Turning off and restarting usually allowed the lamp to turn on with fewer sparks to begin with. After about 20 hours of use, I decided to investigate. What I found (see photo) is that the connector pins are a smaller diameter than the original bulb, so the connector is loose in the housing causing sparking and blackening of the pins. I contact the seller. I was replied to quickly and told a replacement would be sent. LAMP #2: I got a replacement. Upon installation I found that it had the same loose pin problem. I used nose pliers, curled the pins a bit and got a snug fit. I turned on the projector and the lamp lit up with no arcing. However, as it got warmer, the colors started to fade and go crazy, and then the lamp just went out. I hastily turned off the projector. Luckily the lamp didn't explode. Looks like I got a bad lamp this time. At this point I decided to return the lamp for a refund as I was more worried about damaging the projector. In retrospect, I had to crimp the contacts on the 1st lamp, as this lamp was excellent in terms of colors and brightness (after warming up). LAMP #3. The seller contacted me and asked why I returned the lamp. I explained the reason to them and the seller said they would send me a free lamp even after I sent the Revain product back. I have the 3rd pear. Had the same problem with loose pins; I squished them to fit snugly and then, against my better judgment, turned them on without risking the projector. There was no arcing and the lamp was at full brightness in about a minute+. Colors when fully warm are excellent, with good brightness. I have now spent over 100 hours on the lamp and have no problems. Summary: If you can live with slow heating and can crimp the connector pins to ensure a tight fit, then this is an inexpensive replacement lamp. First class customer service. so mark 5 stars for it. They also want you to like their FB page, leave a 5 star rating to get a $15 refund or a free lamp; I don't think it's ethical, but who am I to judge. I hope this helps you make your own decision.
