I recently used this to carry some plates for Thanksgiving dinner. Leave the cold food at the bottom and the warm food at the top. Didn't have to go too far, but it worked pretty well to keep cold items cold and hot items warm in their respective compartments. Much easier to use than just popping them into individual paper or plastic bags. And I love how it easily shrinks to a fairly thin size for storage when not in use. Overall it looks well built so should last quite a while.
