Review on Streamlight 66603 Flashlight Micro Stream by Michael Skerving

EXCELLENT / AMAZING build quality from Streamlight. Only 1.2 ounces, very light. The first push of a button has 50 lumens - ideal for working in a small tent or campsite without burning your eyes at night. 250 lumens in height is fine, but not that much. 250 lumens isn't enough for night hikes - instead opt for "Macro-Flux" which is 1 ounce heavier at 2.2 ounces, 500 lumens instead of 250 lumens like Micro-Flux. 250 lumens are enough for tent and camping work. The functionality is remarkable - replaceable (proprietary) lithium-ion AAA batteries. This gives you the option of taking a few lightweight rechargeable batteries with you or charging them with a rechargeable battery. I tested it and this flashlight works while charging - a great bonus when you're on the go and need battery power. No strobe function - useful for scaring bears away at night - but you can press the button fast enough to get a decent strobe effect. My other Streamlight tactical flashlights annoyingly turn on first at high brightness, then at strobe, then at low brightness. . This made it difficult to use when camping out, always blinding me with the first high beam, second strobe light and then finally the third light on the low beam to do chores around the house. Of course, in a tactical situation, you want high brightness first, then flash. This is a substitute for my trip to the AT section!
