Unlike dogs, who are omnivores like us, their bodies prefer a protein diet. Those on a carnivorous diet claim that the cat's body is not designed to digest carbohydrates, especially difficult carbohydrates like gluten - you know those delicious sauces for chunks, flakes and slices of meat that are sold to our cats. . They also say that the normal amount of carbohydrate a cat eats in the wild is the grass that's in the stomach of a mouse that eats it. Now mine are a little different than these and if I plant them some good quality weed they will eat it. They will eat chunks too, but they are meant to survive even though they won't eat chunks, no matter how much they love them. , the coat is shiny and my fat cat has lost almost two pounds by feeding her unlimited wet food twice a day. That's great. My little feral cat mom, only 7 pounds, is 12 years old, but she passes as a 6 year old. It's the same with boys. They are more active and play more, although the youngest, two boys, is 11 years old. I'm all for the pie diet if you want a healthier cat. And since I can't afford $25-$30 for 12 cans of "top brand" wet cat food, I trust Purina to feed all kinds of livestock and pets longer than any of us.
