First check the 4-pin power output of your motherboard!

* You can shorten or lengthen the RGB wires with solder, shrink tubing and a soldering iron. *You don't want to cut these strips. They are not designed for that. Buy another product if you want to shorten the length of the RGB strips.* These are standard RGB strips only. They're not addressable, so keep that in mind.* This works great, but while the manufacturer claims that "Airgoos strips support daisy chaining, we recommend a maximum of 4 strips," they assume you're using a motherboard with power out of 2 amps on a 4 channel circuit. RGB pin connector. Each strip draws 0.4 amps of current (at 12 VDC). 4 bands is 1.6 amps. Most 2017/2018 motherboards were rated at 1 amp per socket, so you are limited to 2 lanes per socket (0.4 x 2 = 0.8 amps). 4 pin connector so you can actually run 5 strips per connector (0.4 x 5 = 2 amps) but to limit the stress on the board it is recommended not to increase the current to the maximum and run 4 strips too use (04 x 4 = 1.6 amps) However, some boards are not the norm, even if they are older (e.g. Asrock B450M-Pro4) and are limited to 3 amps or higher. In the case of the Asrock board above, you can run 7 lanes (a total of 14 lanes since it has two 4-pin 3A connectors on each). Personally I connected 5 strips to each 4 pin RGB connector and board. handles the load well.
