Review on πŸ’ͺ Powerful Protection: Panamax PM8-EX 8 AC Outlet Surge Protectors - Safeguard Your Devices! by Phillip Jaylon

The Only Brand I Will Buy

After receiving extensive hands-on training in surge protection (read: nearly $6,000 worth of equipment lost due to lighting), I came to the following conclusion: protection is layered. You need more than one way to minimize voltage transients. To me, that means whole house protection on every panel and surge protection on every device. It is also important to protect the antenna, telephone and LAN cables when they are subjected to transients. But they really only need protection at the entrance to the house. The power supply must be protected at both the panel and the plug. And for the last step, the ONLY brand I will be using is Panamax. I have bought other well known brands and they have let me down. In the latter case, I had two televisions on the same constituency (same switch) and one was protected by Panamax, the other by a different brand. After a thunderstorm, a television protected by another brand broke down. Panamax TV worked great. Since the Panamax surge protector was installed on every critical piece of equipment, there have been no more losses. We live in the foothills on a hill so there was plenty of room for light damage. I've been told that you can mimic the Protect or Disable function by inserting a GFCI and using a standard surge protector. Unfortunately I can't do a comparison test, but it makes sense. As for me, I'm just going to buy a panamax. I know this sounds like a paid review, but it's not: I'm really in love with this brand. Oh yeah! The reason I'm on the review site is to buy another one!
