I bought 925 sterling silver earrings for my 18 month old baby. When they arrived I took out her earrings and replaced them with these. My daughter was picky every time her ears were touched. The pins in the new set are thicker than those in the piercing set and are flat. Also, the earrings don't close. I made sure I could hear the earrings "click" when I put them on, and while she slept they came off. Overall I think the earrings are pretty but not the best choice for active toddlers or as a replacement for studs.
