If the ugly green print on the side of the ubiquitous scratching post mentioned in the title annoys you, this is worth considering. The outside of the product is a glossy imitation wood label that covers the entire perimeter and is of course round rather than rectangular. Your cats may find this uncomfortable if they are large or prefer to lie along rather than in a ball. Both of my cats weigh less than 10 pounds and they will happily use it when it's near a sunspot (see photo of my little cat sleeping in it). In terms of scratching, unless your cat is fully extended to 15-16 inches, it's less than ideal. On the other hand, I believe it increases durability.
