Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Ultimate Protection and Convenience: Skull & Co. Maxcarry Case for Nintendo Switch by Julio Rattanajatuphorn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I rotated this product 180 degrees so

I bought this case to try it out and was going to return it in a few weeks as I expected I would really not like it. I've read reviews that avoided how much stiffer the case made the L/R buttons feel. I've read complaints that people couldn't use their switch in the dock. I am not returning this handle. Yes, the L/R buttons are a bit stiffer, but they wear out after a bit of use and you get used to them. It's not that they're rigid, it's that you have to press the button at a slightly different angle than the console itself. It doesn't matter much. I haven't gotten any worse in Splatoon. Yes, the Switch is struggling to maintain a dock connection in all three docks: two launch versions, one bought after about 6 months. Skull & Co. states that docking issues are caused by less space at the top of some versions of the dock. I followed their repair instructions and disagree. In my experience, the bottom of the GripCase is too thick, preventing the USB-C port in the dock from fully fitting into the console. If I press in all my docks with some force, I get a connection until I bring them back up. That tells me something isn't quite right at the bottom of the dock. Why am I keeping this case and giving it four stars when other reviews are correct? Comfortable and without pain. I mostly play Switch games in handheld mode, even at home, and GripCase makes it a great experience, not just a good one. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to dock the Switch without removing the GripCase? You can count on that, so I'm deducting a star. But removing the GripCase literally takes 3 seconds, so it doesn't matter. If you primarily use your Switch laptop, consider doing this yourself to get some grip. While it's not perfect, it's pretty good.
