When unpacked, the chain did not grow together. I say broken but it looks like it was just never built. This is a great piece of costume/holiday decoration. It's big so you can see what it's like. Nothing breaks or breaks, it's just adorable. A quick minute with a pair of pliers and I have the necklace assembled and in gift-worthy condition. The chain is long but not too long, almost anyone can slip it over their head without untying it. Overall it seems quite durable and its chain is thicker than I expected. Great accessory for Thanksgiving.
