Good price, acceptable quality, special use.

I couldn't find anything wrong with this product. It was fair for the price and not cheap like some junk that turns up in the dollar stores. What is the 18 inch M2M USB A cable good for? I believe it works well if you connect peripherals in close proximity. Actually, that's exactly what I do. USB wireless adapter for my laptop. I use an external plugin because the internal plugin that comes with HP laptops is very poorly made and unreliable. the supposedly repaired/exchanged adapter card came back just as unreliably as before. Of course, I could plug an external adapter directly into one of the USB ports. But that's the formula for disaster. like a flash drive) flexes and eventually falls apart right where it is inserted. And these little bugs can't be fixed. After breaking two adapters, I started using one of these little cables. It allows me to place the adapter where it suits me (hanging it over the screen, draping it over my shoulder, or leaving it on the armrest of my computer chair). It also provides some flexibility in optimally aligning the adapter with the sometimes remote router antenna in my 6,000ft^2+ home. Older people may remember how the bunny ears of television wobbled in the pre-cable days. Young people need to visit the museum to fully understand the concept or even learn what bunny ears are. In any case it is a good short cable and I recommend it for the use I have described and all similar applications. I also recommend that HP clean up their quality control.

Pros
  • These dependable cables have gold plated connectors to resist corrosion
Cons
  • boring packaging
