I think I have a defective device. It took three different people to open the back and insert the batteries. After installation, resetting was almost impossible. It was so tight my friend almost grabbed it with a hammer trying to shut it (I stopped him). We finally came back and the device didn't work. It never worked with other (new/good condition) batteries either. Even with the lighting part working, there was no way to open and close the back without nearly destroying the back opening block. I couldn't put it back on to get it back. I wanted it to work and maybe it was just one of those bad blocks.
