Review on Sony MDR-EX15AP Black Earphones with Mic and Control for Smartphones by Aneta Kaczmarska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

Sony's MDR-EX15AP is equivalent to the MDR-EX15LP, except it includes a built-in microphone and a control button. The headset works with LG and Samsung phones but not Nokia. In the same price range as the EX15AP(LP) are the previously owned alternatives of the AKG K324, the AKG IP2, and the original Samsung EHS64. While the EX15AP's overall sound is comparable to that of the AKG K324, the latter's lower-mid frequencies (250 Hz, the so-called "upper bass") are more apparent. However, while the bass in the K324 is highly sensitive to where you place the "plug," the EX15AP does not suffer from this issue. These remain securely in the ears better than any of the alternatives. Audio - at this price point ($15), it's pointless to make claims about the game's "crystal clear stage," attacks, etc. The sound is typical; it has bass, the highs don't distort, and it's generally uncluttered. An adjuster that levels out disadvantages and personal preferences (especially ViPER FX 4 Android). High sensitivity and relative selectivity in a microphone. The noise from the surrounding passengers won't drown out your voice if you have to carry on a discussion while riding public transportation. Although I find the L-shaped plug to be a drawback, some people may find its sharp corners to be an advantage. As a whole, the MDR-EX15AP is a great option for phones and smart phones that use the mp3 format. In this case, the cord would be made of silicone, making it even more comfortable to use. Those who want to listen to their flac files on a high-quality device will have to spring for a more expensive and superior option.

Pros
  • superior audio quality, extremely low background noise, high quality voice recording, and affordable price.
Cons
  • stiff rope
