Review on πŸ”Œ Surecall 10dB Attenuator - N Female to N Male, 5 Watts by Chad Delgado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

To weaken or not to weaken, that is the question.

If you end up with a hot signal in the low -40 range, your best bet is to move and/or detune the outside antenna. However, if you have a situation where you need to rent a $300/day elevator to get to an outdoor antenna, there is a risk of falling down very tall stairs, or in other difficult situations that make antenna setup impractical, then you will this damper will save the day and maybe your life. Use only in situations where the signal is very strong and will turn off your amp immediately. There are other versions (with different levels of attenuation) of this attenuator that should be considered depending on the level of the incoming signal. Attenuate only what is necessary to prevent overloading and shutting down your amp. If your amplifier shuts down and you have easy access to an external antenna, the first thing you should try is moving and/or detuning the antenna. I only recommend using this or any other attenuator as a last resort.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
