Thanks to the lining, they fit very closely to the foot until your foot is "at home" in the inner lining. However, this was not the reason for the loss of stars. The lining cannot be removed like the old model. what i don't like the boots are sewn in somehow not sure if they are glued in didn't bring a seam ripper to find out i prefer and need lined crocs with removable lining because my dogs sometimes decide to tag my crocs when i'm with others dogs where it would be almost impossible to clean them properly, i didn't see that the foil was permanently installed when i ordered it. Unless you have dogs that can pee in your shoes, I think it's safe to up the rating by at least a star or two. The pads don't usually get too rough with normal use, but since they're not removable I still wouldn't personally recommend them. I will definitely not be buying the style of this ah-ha.
