This shower head surprised me at first with its modesty. He proudly wears his plastic case and doesn't try to look like he's not. No artificial metallic look. It clearly looks like plastic and the rubber hose looks like a black thin garden hose. However, despite its somewhat cheap looks, it performs fantastically. It has two modes: direct and rain. The direct jet is more concentrated and intense, but still a long way from the good old days of the adjustable overhead shower. We prefer the Rain setting, which has a larger jet radius and a gentle, soothing jet. The shower head was easy to assemble and although the manual recommends using a wrench, we managed to finger tighten it. It doesn't drip, the water flow is good. The hose isn't as long as some of the other hoses we've used and is a bit stiff, but manageable and long enough for our needs. All in all a good shower head for a second bathroom or even a master bathroom if it's not too upscale. It'll stick out like a sore thumb in an upscale bathroom with fancier fixtures elsewhere.
