Too much heat will deform the grill.

So I had a friend who had one like this for the last 2 years so I decided to get one. It has a slight learning curve as the fire needs to be fueled regularly. I've probably used it 5-6 times since I got it, but I'll share my most recent experience. So this is definitely an amazing little oven. I went camping and collected a 5 gallon bucket of furry cones. It's quite difficult to start, so I always check if I have some thick wood to help get started. Once I lit it I cooked my steak which was well cooked, needs a lot of turning to cook evenly but it came out great. Then I started feeding the fire with pine cones to see how well I could charge it. After 4-5 hours of continuous charging and maintaining a 3/4 charge rate, I was able to fully charge the internal battery and charge the flashlight at the same time. It's generally slow to charge, but you can get a decent charge from it. Some disappointment ensued so after 4-5 hours of charging I looked at the top of my grill and my stand was not sitting properly on the grill as it seemed to be warping from the heat. Very disappointing as it was one of the main reasons I bought the oven for and I figured for $230 it would hold up a bit better.

Pros
  • Grill plate for up to four burgers. Boils 1 liter of water in 4.5 minutes. Burns any renewable biomass (sticks, branches, etc.)
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine
