Poor design: It uses a shift key.

This particular model has a design flaw. It uses a shift key instead of a position switch to select NTSC or PAL; and every time you turn on the device, it defaults to the (wrong) PAL format! For my setup, where I have electricity that cycles off and on regularly, this model was wrong. Get a model (like most of them) with a slider/position switch instead of a button/switch to select the default video format.
