I gave 4 stars instead of 5 just because the size is a bit small. I would feel uncomfortable wearing a sweater underneath, it would be too tight. That being said, I put it on for the first time yesterday in 27°F with just a thin cute 3/4 shirt underneath and I've never felt cold. general. This is a stunning windbreaker jacket with knitted cuffs that really enclose your wrists. The zipper works hard and opens up and down which is great when you're in the car as you can zip up the bottom hem for comfort. Of course if you are prone to overheating easily like me then in the store etc you will need to unzip as it retains your body heat very well. If you're running errands, you can wear a wetter, sweat-wicking athletic shirt. In this case longer sleeves are preferable to shorter sleeves as the lining actually retains heat in contact with the skin. To you. Also, I removed the fur piece as it's not for me, but the hood covers the head really well. I only wish they had included a drawstring for those windy days. But the scarf will take care of that. Beautiful A-line style. I recommend this coat. Bought one for my elderly mother in law as it is light and warm. Update: Just go for a walk in the winter rain with a hood (no faux fur trim) while the others fiddled with their dripping, billowing umbrellas. Not only did the coat keep me warm without a scarf while I watched other people wrapped in hats under hoods and scarves (mind you, I was wearing a very thin blouse underneath), but it was completely dry. Not even a drop of water got on my glasses. I LOVE THIS COAT!
