I like them, but they are only good for very small items, like two small animals wrapped in tissue paper. Large toys such as a 5 inch cow are not suitable as they do not have a gusset. This was my first time buying bags without a gusset and over the past five years I have bought thousands of them. Thus, the width corresponds to the specified - it will not unfold to slightly increase the opening. That being said, they come with enough drawstrings so they won't snap if you don't overtighten them, but they will if they get too full.
