Review on ๐ŸŽง Turtle Beach DXL1 Gaming Headset - Dolby Surround Sound - Xbox 360 by Sadik Pinger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Compared to all other Turtle Beach headsets I've found the balance I was looking for

As the Turtle Beach x12 set my brother and I used for our Xbox 360 is on its last legs I decided it was time to buy a new headset. I went shopping and knew a few things: I needed surround sound, I needed a more comfortable kit than the x12, I didn't want to spend a lot of money, and I wanted the headphones to cover my ears completely. The DXL1 set did all of those things. For some reason, on the x12 line of headsets (yes, there are multiple types of x12 headsets, search for them) the inside of the ear cups actually sat in my ears. . It was quite uncomfortable and made me nostalgic for my awesome old x11 headphones I grew up with which didn't have these issues thanks to the thick padding on the earcups. Headphones consider x12 comfortable, and this set is considered uncomfortable. You know: Everyone has different heads and different ears. You never know if a headset is right for you until you try it. It works amazing for me. It might not be for you. So see if you can try on each type of headset to get an idea of what fits and what doesn't before you buy. If you've ever tried x12s and didn't like them, you'll love this style of headset. I chose this particular headset because, to be honest, I didn't want to spend a lot of money. But I wanted surround sound. After some research, the Astro A40 is the way to go - I didn't want to spend $250 on a headset that I'll be sharing from time to time when moving from PC to Xbox with a brother who might be able to ask for it. Especially if I have already bought a completely different set for my PC. This set is used exclusively for my 360 so it's not going anywhere. I use my Logitech G35 computer headset on my computer and I love it. Obviously I can't use them on my Xbox so I had to find something else. I've also had a px21 headset in the past - they were great because they worked on my PC and Xbox, the volume was high when I wanted it loud, the mic was very easy to maneuver - however the build quality was Poor. It is the best. I would buy them again but would like to see how they perform. To be honest this set doesn't get much better than these but I've tested my px21 through hell. This will be taken care of and I am happy if my brother and I can get 3 years from them. I give this product 5 stars because it does what I wanted - it satisfies my craving for surround sound. (albeit 5.1, modeled after of course) on an Xbox 360 with a very nice price tag and sits comfortably on my head/ears too.
