Basket blocks the bottom grate guard leaving you with a hole for one of the grate splitters. Of course, the shrimp swim through and through the lower green holes in Chamber 1 with no problem. I don't have a problem with that now that they can swim back. I have an issue with the basket not fitting snugly in the chamber. There is a small gap between the basket and the left wall which I had two shrimp stuck in for four days after installation, resulting in late night attempts to get the shrimp out from between the wall and basket. I have a feeling that one of those nights the shrimp will get stuck between the basket and the wall and die from the stress. For now, I've decided to remove the basket and leave the bottom grid there for the shrimp's own good. The shopping cart idea is great, but the product could have been better. enough for the back slot but narrow enough that the shrimp don't swim through the grate. That, or make the chamber itself a little wider.
