Review on πŸ“¦ AmazonCommercial Heavy-Duty 5-Tier Steel Wire Shelving, 24" W x 18" D, Chrome – NSF Certified & Optional Wheels by Christine Marquez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Noncommercial. Not overwhelmed. It's not worth it.

Calling this a heavy duty shelf is ridiculous. This is dorm furniture. Perfect for storing your phone charger, Apple HomePod, toaster, small microwave and some bookshelves. And if you need it for that, then you should definitely give it some attention. But "Commercial?" "Tough Conditions" No, sorry, not even close. First, no shelf labeled "hard work" should have shelves with *three segments* each. To be honest, two is a lot. The more parts, the less stable and the greater the probability of failure. As soon as you put them together, you can see how unreliable the manufacturing process was: the assembled posts are curved, almost a slight spiral. As they are well packaged and very short (and therefore difficult to bend) I assume they have been like this since they left the factory. The wire in the wire racks is 15-20% thinner than the wire in other units I've purchased from Revain. I really wouldn't trust this to stay anywhere near the top shelf rating advertised on this site. Add in the included casters and things get a whole lot worse. Even with nothing on it, pushing this thing makes the whole shelf jump up and shake like a nervous Jack Russell Terrier. Under load, the entire rack groans and trembles like the mule of an overloaded prospector. There are a lot of animal metaphors here, but you get the point. I'm pretty sure a bottle cap or a fairly large breadcrumb on its way could cause the device to detach from at least one wheel if I bumped into it along the way. Serves me right in looking for the cheapest shelving I can find that I feel will suit my needs rather than paying a little more for something of better quality. In summary, if you want to store a small amount of relatively light items and you don't plan to use the wheels very often, this device will suit your needs. If you want to store something essential - canned goods, a few small kitchen appliances, engine parts, tools, computers and computer parts. something else. Just my opinion.
