I bought this protective mat when my son was a baby and have been using it for three years now. The carpet completely covers the seat of my kitchen chair and has a nice non-slip base underneath. My chairs have a soft seat and the non-slip pad keeps the seat protector in place well. The surface of the mat is easy to wash off after eating and clean with a damp cloth. About once a month I take the rug completely off the chair and toss it in the washing machine on the gentle cycle, then air dry the rug before putting it back on the chair. This rug has been in very good condition for the last 3 years and still looks like new.
