When my daughter got it, she didn't put hers down. She lets me and her dad (I bought 3 packs) each take one with us wherever we go in the house just in case she needs to say something or ask us something. That's the cutest thing. Overall I am very happy with these radios. I would have liked more variety. I misread the description or didn't read enough. I thought they had a 3 mile radius, turns out it's only in open fields. Living radius up to 3 km. Nonetheless, my daughter is delighted with the item and that is the most important thing. She just turned 6 and seems to be using them with ease. No big problems figuring things out, so they're pretty basic and straightforward. I wish the volume was a little lower, but once we figured out how to turn off the constant beeps (which didn't affect the volume, they were just loud), the walkie-talkie became a lot more tolerant (like the parents). Again my child cannot turn them down and if she is happy and they are great for her needs then I am sure I have made my money well and would absolutely recommend them. Plus they have great colors!
