My 5 year old granddaughter loves these silky soft tank tops. The sizes are large so while I wouldn't recommend going down, older girls may need to wear something underneath to be decent, especially as the armholes are large. In fact, they look very cute when layered on top of each other and that solves the modesty issue. My granddaughter has a sensory processing disorder and her skin is very sensitive. They don't irritate your skin at all. They are very soft with no corners or edges. They have survived several washes well.
