I travel a lot so I need a lightweight beach towel. It's definitely lightweight and perfect for travel and I feel like it's a decent sized beach towel. Haven't taken it to the beach yet so can't comment on absorbency or sand repellency (I'll edit my comment when I try those properties). Still I would give 5 stars but I have a feeling the picture of the pattern is deceiving. I had to double check that I received the towel I ordered (purple thick towel) as the towel I received was much lighter and more orange and pink than the picture showed. If I had known that, I probably would have ordered a different model. It's cute, but it looks very 70's and it's not really my style. It's still cute, just not what I expected from the picture. Would love to try it on the beach!
