So far I've tested this backpack in the rain and put 22# in it. This is perfect for EDC and as a home bag. The inside length is about 19 inches high. I love the zip design and the zip pockets in the main compartment. The black color goes well with my car. I can stash my stuff and tie it to my chest. The buckled end pocket allows for carrying a small first aid kit and gives a secure feel to this bag. The downside of the bag is that in heavy rain (Pacific Northwest style) it gets wet in less than an hour. The backpack is heavy but not waterproof. The discoloration is displayed for your pleasure. The second comment is that the chest strap is a bit small. I wear a layer under a fleece coat and it was difficult to fasten. My chest is around 42-44 inches. Having an outer shell may not work if you want to use a strap. I wish there was a waist belt, even if it was just webbing. I love it and like to wear it as a backpack.
