Originally bought to help my husband control his beard. He didn't want to try it, so I felt it my duty to test it for him. Since I don't have a beard I just had to use my regular old fashioned hair. I sprayed on a setting spray (Redken Hot Sets 22), applied and started the process. That. was. So. Big! It worked very well. It has different heat levels. You can choose the level according to your hair type etc. After kindly subjecting myself to such extensive testing, my husband finally decided to give it a try. I used the same fixing spray and the second heat setting. He was nervous so I didn't want to put pressure on him but it worked really well. It was strange that his beard was smoothed, but at the same time light and fluffy. I think he added a balm or something afterwards to help control. All in all it was a good buy. I may have to get a second one because we can't share much. :D
