The size of the belt fits me perfectly (didn't have to trim it at all). The ratchet design is perfect for adjusting the size between regular straps with hole design. The clasp can be hidden (out of sight depending on how you insert the strap into the loop), but it's easy to undo, even when you're sitting at your dining table. The latch is at the end of the buckle (away from the belt) on the top or bottom edge of the buckle. The metal buckle is colored in the color of the belt (I have dark blue).
