I used this tripod for the first time over the weekend and I love it. Setup is easy as you simply unlatch the clips on the sides to lengthen your legs. What's even better is that this tripod has a leveler so you know the legs aren't exactly level. The pivoting rubber mounts on the bottom of the legs add an extra sense of security and stability. I can confirm that the screw holding the camera works well and prevents your camera from falling. I accidentally left the grip unlocked and my camera and lenses tipped forward with some force. The camera remained attached to the tripod, and the tripod itself did not tip forward and fall under the weight of everything that was on it. It only weighs 2.4 pounds but has a maximum load capacity of 6.6 pounds and comes with a convenient carry case. Standard 1/4" screw and adjustable phone clip (2.17-3.35") fits most cameras and phones. Great tripod for iPhone, Canon, Nikon, Sony, DSLRs, camcorders and Samsung phones. It is good for recording wonderful moments in hiking, sightseeing and camping! This tripod is definitely worth the money if you are just starting out or need a travel tripod.
