Don't think original here means OEM; it's not like this. This replacement cable was a good solution when an OEM power supply was out of my budget. It has an advantage over the standard cable; The cable from the PSU to the computer is slightly longer, so there is less voltage at the connection of the cable from the computer to the PSU (this connection broke and destroyed the original ASUS power cable). However, this power cord is not a long-term solution. The PSU case started overheating and swelling in the first 5-6 months. Shortly thereafter, the plug in the power supply wore out from the wall plug and lost connection. This is a standard cord that can easily be replaced with a monitor power cord. However, the connector that plugs into the computer is still stuck. The fact that the power supply was so hot it was blistering the plastic case made me a little worried about the quality and cleanliness of my computer's power supply.
