Review on πŸ•°οΈ Improved Invicta Men's 9223 Speedway Collection Chronograph S Series Wristwatch by William Chavez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Moderate size, good features, good masculine looks

Let me first clarify some of the things written about this watch in reviews and on the Revain website where this watch is featured. The actual size of the case is 39mm from the dial to the outer edge of the bezel, measured through the 2 to 8 or 4 to 10 center. If the measurement includes the crown, measured from the outer edge of the case, through the 9 and through the center to 3 and then to the outer edges of the crown, width about 43 mm. The thickness of the case is around 12.6mm, giving the watch real visual weight and only appearing small to those who love a truly huge watch. The bezel is very shiny, as are the sides of the case, but the top of the lugs are heavy, almost coarsely brushed, and the bracelet is the standard Solid Link Oyster style found on many Invicta (and Rolex, of course) too find is. Watches with links that are polished in the middle and matt on both sides, with shiny edges. The large seconds hand rotating in the center of the dial is a constantly moving seconds hand. The stopwatch seconds hand is located on the sub-dial at position 6. The sub-dial at position 9 counts one hour in one-minute intervals, but only has markers at the five-minute positions, so accuracy should not be expected. The sub-dial at position 3 is a 24-hour dial that is constantly moving. The only obvious function of this dial is to tell the owner of the watch whether it is day or night. The hand on this dial moves synchronously with the hour and minute hands when the main time display is set. I think it is to let the owner of the watch know if the watch is correctly set to AM or PM. As far as I can tell, that 24-hour hand has nothing to do with the chronograph function. I think this dial can also tell you when to set the date, but other than that I just don't see any useful feature. So all in all a good watch, not what I would call a knockout, although I like the embossed dial and this watch looks very similar to the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph, so fingers crossed if the movement lasts a few years and deserves its four Stars. As they say, only time will tell.
