Good gaiters keep moisture out of pants and socks. They're easy to roll up and store away when not in use, and easily attaches to boots. Personally I don't find straps under the boot useful and bulky so I removed them and didn't notice any performance issues. This is good value for money if you're looking for waterproofing or want to keep your shins warm. Don't forget to waterproof your boots! These gaiters are not designed to keep the front of your foot dry, but to keep water off the tongue of your boot, so make sure you have good boots and socks if you want them to complement the waterproofing of your shoes. .
