Trick to Accelerate Heat Distribution - Oscillation

Pros: Ceramic, more attractive than most, Oscillation helps distribute heat around the room, Longer power cord than competing products. Cons: When set to 80F in a 55F room without hesitation, the heat seemed to stay in the unit rather than the fan pushing it out into the room. I have to stand directly in front of it to warm up, even though the device runs for an hour. -- Then I tried the "oscillate" setting. It made a big difference. Heated the room in minutes. Replaced a Holmes heater that had lasted over 20 years. Unfortunately this model is no longer available. I bought another Holmes product. It had great heat but the cord was too short to get to where I needed to heat it up. So I used a heavy duty indoor/outdoor power strip with this unit. The heat generated by the device began to melt the power strip that the device was plugged into. (Melted to such an extent that it was impossible to unplug the heater from the extension cord.) -- When looking for a replacement, all small portable ceramic heaters come with warnings not to use an extension cord and plug it straight into the wall. With a slightly longer Lasko power cord, you can not only heat the desired area, but also securely connect the device to the outlet.
