I don't know why knobs are so expensive. An attempt to make cloth earmuffs for making cloth face masks and an attempt to keep the cost realistic. It is difficult to find buttons for less than $1 per button and two buttons are required per guard. I was hopeful when I saw this list - great looking buttons, just the right size, at a reasonable price. Fingers crossed I ordered a set. They arrived today and I am so happy with them. They're sturdy, the perfect size to hold the mask's ear loops, and best of all, they're very attractive and fairly durable. I reordered as soon as I inspected them. This is a great product at a reasonable price, attractive and durable. The picture is great, but they look even better in the hand.
