This blanket and hat are terrible. Let's start with the hat. The opening is 6.5 inches - based on my research, newborn babies have an average head of 13-15 inches. Although this material stretches a little, it doesn't go past 14 inches, and yet there are 1/4-inch seams of excess material all over the strap that will mark your tiny strap and be particularly uncomfortable where the Seams are all meet. They had to cut off excess material and pin the seams to the bag. It's only 9 inches in the opening and opens up to 10 inches when pulled hard - sure it should be tight, but this 0-3 month size won't hold a 7 lb baby more than a pound or two . Can it work for premature babies? The material is very thin, like nylon underwear, and is unlikely to help your new family member maintain body temperature. If you wrap them in the receiving blanket first, they won't fit in the bag. All in all not a good choice ✨
