This color is a little more mutted than the picture indicates

This color is interesting, it has more fuchsia in it than deep purple, and looks good with hazel eyes. The fabric is both good and bad. Good, because it's comfortable, soft and forgiving, but bad because it looks very low quality. This is definitely a casual dress, and would be hard to dress up. Bad because It reminds me of pajama material. OK for the office, but not evening wear (which is what I wanted). I wish the waistband had some integrity and was about double the width, with ruching. That would be lovely, give it some integrity and camouflage the waist even better. I will have to take it in if I keep it. Too wide in the shoulders, and definitely tack the split neckline higher up, so I am not hanging out. I would need to take it in on the side seam---it's sloppy, and hem it to make it not too matronly. But it has potential. Also the flutter sleeves are a bit too large (too much fluttery fabric that accentuates larger arms). I would tack those down a bit or alter them. I wish they made this dress in a more heavy duty material. A nice twill or gaberdine, or even a satin matte, and it would be a game changer. I am 45", 35" 41.5 and 5' 7" tall, and it's a bit sloppy on. Also, I have a 16" shoulder span, and am a 38DD (sometimes a DDD, depending on bra maker). Hope this helps other make an informed decision.

Pros
  • Flattering V-neckline design enhances the appearance of the chest area
Cons
  • The fabric may not be suitable for women with a preference for breathable materials
