I bought this Chromebook to replace my Kindle Fire. While I liked the Kindle Fire, it had some touchscreen glitches when highlighting passages in books, it had no way to customize the home screen and apps downloaded to the device, and I didn't find the general interface very user-friendly. friendly. As an alternative, I took Asus CT100. The stylus makes it much easier to highlight passages when reading and I also often use it for handwritten notes. It's probably not as responsive as the Pixelbook pen, but I like that I never have to charge it and that it's stored on the device itself. The processing quality is also excellent. I didn't buy a case for my device and I often leave it lying around during the day. The screen picks up fingerprints fairly easily (another good reason to use a stylus), but it's very durable and doesn't feel fragile in your hands. The back of the device has a grippy texture that helps the device feel stable when held. The internal speakers aren't very loud, but there's a headphone jack and Bluetooth as an alternative. Because it's a Chromebook, users have much more flexibility in terms of what's displayed and what apps appear on the home screen. I like the minimalist approach with multiple apps on the screen that I mostly use. This device allows me to do what I want to do with the Kindle Fire. The battery life is pretty solid and I never find it unreasonable that I need to charge my device when it starts to die. While this device is geared more toward students and educational purposes, it works great as a Kindle alternative and for fairly standard uses (web browsing, mobile gaming, reading books, watching videos, etc.).
