Works exactly as intended. Very easy/quick pull to remove phone once you get the hang of it. I actually installed it on a competitor's branded base. The base had 1 T-Nut instead of 2 but it still stuck and works great. I would like to buy a compatible base but I already had the old one. I really enjoyed that. My phone has never slipped out. I never thought it was locked when I saw my phone fly over my truck on the first tight turn. The legs are also adjustable. So when I got my new s7 and saw that the mic jack was now on the bottom of this stupid thing, I was able to quickly adjust and lock the legs. It holds every new standard. The smartphone isn't mini-sized, but anything over 4 inches (width doesn't matter) locks in a vise that easily releases the phone when needed.
