Good fit. You do not need to remove (disconnect) the adapter ring. I advise you not to overtighten. I hold the camera to the ceiling and then screw it on. The only downside is that the hood prevents the LCD screen from tilting up or forward. The LCD screen is in contact with the hood. I put the LCD in first and then put on the lens hood when I want the screen to face the front
