Review on Wrights Coal Tar Soap Pack by Robin Haynes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Coal tar has been replaced with TEA TREE OIL! Another smell (still good - CLEAN, REIN revitalizes - REIN rinses!)

Original packaging. A different wording. I used it many years ago and liked the light smell of carbolic acid which clears the sinuses. The formula has been changed and the soap is now made in Turkey under license to a company in Solihull, UK. Unilever owns this company. EU regulations banned all traces of coal tar and replaced it with tea tree oil. While tea tree oil can be effective when used properly, I find it too strong for my face. I keep telling my organic nutritionists that 'natural' ingredients in skincare products should be used with the same care and discretion as ingredients on retail store shelves. You know, organic doesn't automatically mean good for you. I mentally roll my eyes when I get instructions from people whose only real enlightenment on ingredients and how they work comes from a search engine. However, the scent of tea tree is STRONG, FRESH AND WAKE-UP. no film residue. For this reason, I hate Dove's vaunted soap, which I call the Lady Macbeth of soaps, because it requires thorough and repeated washing to remove the stickiness from the skin. I felt sentimental and wanted to smell my childhood again. . I'm glad the International Orange packaging hasn't changed. Cannot be found in retail stores and I suspect even this drab version of the old favorite will be gone soon. I just remembered we washed our dog with Wright's Coal Tar Soap and it was very good at fighting fleas. in a stalemate and leaves behind a needle-fresh, healing aroma of tea tree oil. A good soap is good for all four-legged friends. I can get that for now. Hello and goodbye old friend Reserve. Thank you for reading this review of a trusted old standby and favorite. I hope my observation of this old brand of soap is helpful to you!
