I have had a very good Salter scale like this for many, many years. Unfortunately I hit the plastic window with the can and broke off a piece of plastic which made it a bit unreliable. This model shown in the listing turned out to be the latest version of my old scale. He arrived yesterday. He's on his way back. It was NOT accurate. You had to adjust it 5-7 pounds to the right to get the same reading my alter gave me with the needle at zero (that's how scales are supposed to work). It also felt so cheap and flimsy compared to the old version. The price I paid for being a clumsy and breaking my trusty old gold. Next, let's try the well-reviewed Sunbeam model. Hope this works for us. This is the third scale I am ordering to replace the broken one.
