Great sound, easy to use, durable - Protection from saliva, drips, general protection from child abuse. My 8 month old baby liked this player a lot but even more than him his father liked it. The voice distortion feature is quite interesting and even has a volume control (though no mute). I am sure that our son is convinced that we are crazy - dad loves to follow mom and talk to her with a chipmunk, an alien and other voices. My son's favorite feature is the voice warp mic, which serves as the perfect bite. I can confirm the microphone is waterproof/drop proof. I especially like the handles on the side - mom can grab the baby and the tape recorder and carry it to another room. The only downside to this is that cassettes aren't that popular so I have to look for cassettes at flea markets and thrift stores - most people gave us children's music on CDs as gifts. I wouldn't trade simple use for small ones. CDs don't last that long, and you can't throw your players around and expect them to work again. I would buy this again in a heartbeat! worth your money!
