Travel cots have certainly come a long way since my first baby was born! I bought this for my niece who just had her first child. I knew having a travel cot was necessary but I didn't realize how cool they are now! First, when they say they're easy to carry, what they really mean is that they're easy to carry! The entire crib folds neatly and packs away in a handy carry bag. It's so easy and convenient to travel with. I really like that every aspect that the child comes into contact with can be washed. Mattress topper, net sides, side rail covers - all of this can be washed! All 4 sides are made of mesh material, which provides the child with excellent ventilation and also allows them to be looked at at all times. The zipper also opens on the side, which is very convenient! You don't have to strain to lean on the crib and put your baby down. You can easily unzip the zipper on this side and easily put (or pick up) your baby inside. I also love that as he gets older you can leave the side zips open so he can get in and out as needed. The mattress is comfortable and supportive, giving the child a great place to sleep. The frame is very strong and is made of thick aluminum tubes. Don't worry, the thick padding covers the entire frame, making it soft and safe for baby. The crib is just over 2 feet tall and the base measures approximately 3.5 feet wide and just over 2 feet deep. It's big enough for a child to sleep and play comfortably, but small enough to travel with.
